I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Kinky Birds on fire off the shoulder of Skirt Blame Bear. I watched Pink Banny glitter in the dark near the Zentai Gate. All those mascots will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to cosplay. posted by griphus at 11:36 AM on October 23, 2010 [40 favorites]

Ok, if I can't find the special plastic combs then I'll start taking cocaine intravenously. So noted. posted by 1adam12 at 11:40 AM on October 23, 2010 [8 favorites]

Oh and if anyone happens to find a 90s Superboy costume in there that isn't shiny, give me a heads up.
I swear, it's not like I've been looking for it everywhere for weeks and could only find shiny ones. posted by griphus at 11:44 AM on October 23, 2010
"Skirt blame Bear" sounds like something from an awesome video game's walkthrough.
Really? To me "Skirt Blame Bear" sounds like a mascot from the worst slut-shaming PSA program ever. Like "Skirt Blame Bear says 'Hem below the knees, or you're a rotten tease.'" I am unhappy even imagining it. posted by GenjiandProust at 11:53 AM on October 23, 2010 [25 favorites]
There's no way I'm paying an extra $4 for a crotch zipper on a zentai suit. And another $4 for an open mouth?! What a ripoff. posted by Cat Pie Hurts at 12:08 PM on October 23, 2010 [1 favorite]

Zentai, man . . . zentai should not be. Not that I'd ever attempt to base policy on this, but the zentai suit gets me right in the uncanny valley. That said, if they had had those zentai mermaid suits when I was little, I would have begged for one on bended knee, so that I could cut off the headpiece, put the mermaid suit part on, and basically live in it for the entirety of grade school like a small, insufferable otherkin. posted by Countess Elena at 12:20 PM on October 23, 2010 [6 favorites]

This could be a boon for lower budget visual effects work. I actually think the green zentai suits could work well for greenscreen work, where you are trying to make an actor totally disappear. The suits that are designed and sold specifically as official chromakey suits are way more expensive.
