(I didn't think of looking for Halloween mixtapes before Halloween, and saving these links until next year seemed like a lot of patience. I was thinking of calling these "Day of the Dead Mixtapes," but that's not true at all. So, you have free music, one day late to be thematically fitting. Anyway, not everyone lives in a land of Halloween and such.) posted by filthy light thief at 12:17 PM on November 1, 2010
I think November is an inherently spooky month during which we all ought to gather round hearths and tell spooky tales to stave off the cold and darkness.
That being the case, Alan Howarth's mix is making my work day quite pleasantly spooky. posted by chatongriffes at 12:37 PM on November 1, 2010
If you like Alan Howarth's mix, the Evil Nine mixes fit into that same theme. They aren't the group's usual breakbeat style, but mix of old horror soundtracks with clips from the movies, and a track or three at the end that showcases their own productions. posted by filthy light thief at 12:49 PM on November 1, 2010
Whoa, keeping the Halloween mood going after Oct. 31? I'm going to have to give this some thought.
I maintain that Halloween starts on Labor Day and lasts until Thanksgiving. The rest of the year is not Halloween, but we must all keep the Halloween spirit alive in our hearts. posted by Faint of Butt at 2:08 PM on November 1, 2010
Official Halloween celebratory games end on American election day, thus proving patience is NOT always the wise course of action. posted by clavdivs at 4:51 PM on November 1, 2010
Damn, that Alan Howarth mix was great.
Late to the party, but here's Depth Charge's 'Dead By Dawn' (vid. probably nsfw). posted by SyntacticSugar at 8:19 AM on November 3, 2010
