What then specialist Giunta did for his troops in '07 Afghanistan is an example of something from our Armed Forces about which to be proud.
Whatever you think about the military, or war (Giunta did kill at least two people during the acts for which he received the award), or even the worth of the war he was fighting in, this soldier's grace and selflessness are deserving of his commemoration. In an age, when we use the word heroic to celebrate an overpaid athlete hitting a late inning home run, wow, this guy trumps that. Alas, his success has taken a good soldier off the field....he won't be heading back to battle any point soon. (Thought for sure it'd be FFP'd already, but DADT seems to be on people's minds -- Giunta's sort of like Sully at this point, wonder if they'd repeal it if he goes out against it and states homosexuals can be in the military).

Well, he's no James Blunt, but he gave it a good effort, at least.
