The transitions were too frequent and fluid. Especially with some of the more elaborate fonts, a bit of pausing at each letter would've been nice. For certain letters, it's flowing from B to C, and I'm waiting to see if some serifs or embellishments appear, and instead it's already on its way to D!
I guess I could pause it and advance it frame by frame, but why should I have to do this? If the movie's about the fonts, then let me take them in. If it's just about the animation, then why bother mentioning the fonts? posted by explosion at 7:48 PM on January 11, 2011 [4 favorites]
Yeah, this could use some polishing. I wish there were more time to see each letter. The animation is lovely, but the animator didn't even use the whole song and just clumsily faded out at the end, which made me think he just wanted to get it over with already. (I know the feeling, so I'm not gonna judge, but it shows.) posted by katillathehun at 8:56 PM on January 11, 2011
Yeah, coulda used more time at each letter, to absorb it. I liked the mood of the video tho. How does one achieve these lovely transitions? posted by milestogo at 9:56 PM on January 11, 2011
