Oh hi!

Not again you mercurial son of a bitch!

We just watched another episode of X-Files, I swear to god.

Is there a place I could find proof of this watching, say online or something?

Thank you for putting Larry Bird in there.

So my job is to watch the X-Files and say stupid things and pause the DVD when we need to make notes about time for a screen cap. All I can say is that I did my job. It's just waiting on cortex's broken fancy pants scripts that "save time" or whatever in formatting episode writeups.

You might think it's easier to fix a script than to cut up baseball cards, glue them on paper, think up witty captions, scan them, build a website for them, and make a soul-searching projects post. But you'd be wrong.

Oh, please let it be Don Mattingly.

Actually the award for Best Facial Hair, Any Sport would have to go to Bill "Jebidiah" Walton, I believe.

"Best Existential Brooding"

Perfect. I love that Frank Thomas card.

I'm pretty much a sucker for anything to do with baseball cards, so I think this is tops. (Yes, I thought about making a really bad Topps pun in that last sentence.)

C'mon, let's be fair. Zach Galifinakis is doing the Jeff Reardon impersonation.

Lies make the baby Scully bore at the end of the eighth season, named after Mulder's father and gave up for adoption during the end of the ninth season after Scully felt she could no longer provide the safety it needed cry.

This has better legs than Cotex's other baseball card blog.

For your next, Cortex, I propose a blog detailing baseball cards where no further humor need be injected. This card may be the subject of the inaugural post.

The (what I am reading as) deadpan tagging of each entry with #baseball is making me snicker.

Woohoo! Cortex made me a handbound version of these for MeFightClub's Secret Santa this year! I hope the blog catches on like gangbusters!

When I dutifully tagged the Larry Bird card with #baseball, I felt a sort of renewed purpose in the world, yes.

Also, at a suggestion from the Projects thread, I've started tagging the cards with the player name, because, hey, why not. I don't know who most of them are, but thankfully I hadn't emptied my office trash can since cranking out most of the newer ones so I was able to get forensic and backtag most of them. There are a few mysteries from the original batch that went into the original book themadjuggler just mentioned, so if anybody feels like nerding out on late-80s early-90s baseball player identification, check out the oldest dozen or so and let me know if you know who the hell those guys are that aren't named yet.
