The Jungle. Made in 1967 and awarded a Documentary Film Award at the Festival de Popoli, Italy, The Jungle is a short film made in Philly by Harold Haskins and the 12 & Oxford Film Corp. Re-discovered a few years back through Temple University’s Urban Archives.

Cool! I saw this back around 2004 when Secret Cinema screened a 16mm print they found (scroll down to read about it). They even had a couple of the original gang members there. Nice find!

Full disclosure: I first saw this in a documentary film class at Temple circa 1987 or so. Man, am I old.
