Please cite your source, Spoon. It's only fair. Doesn't subtract from the fun and doesn't make us look like jerks to the people who originally posted it. You know the site I mean :-) Thank you.

Crap, my kittens are going to rule your robot's asses.

I'll meet you in the car park after "school" and we'll fight it out then.

Blogdex shows thirty-one sites pointing at this link... Something had it on October 5.
posted by xiffix at 8:11 AM on October 26, 2001

MiguelCardoso - What do you mean "cite my source"?

I found it on the website that it's on.
posted by Spoon at 8:13 AM on October 26, 2001

Which is? There's a good tradition here of acknowledging our sources. All it takes is a "via X" or "from Y" or even "stolen from Z". If you omit this basic courtesy "the website that it's on" will quite justifiably think we're too insecure or arrogant to give credit where it's due.

Silence!
posted by pracowity at 8:27 AM on October 26, 2001

Miguel - I think he's saying that he found the link on his own ("I found it on the website that it's on"), which is highly possible.

Not everyone gets every interesting link they read from someone else. ;)

if u watch that Killer Japanese Seizure Robots page for long enough, the robots arms get tired and they sit down for a bit. Or is that what psychedelic colours and flashing pics are supposed to make you think

I'm with you in spirit, Miguel, but remember: on "that site" one posts the files themselves, not URLs. I'd be inclined to believe that Spoon found it unassisted. Great link, spoon.

Has anyone seen the PowerPuff Girls epsiode called "Cat Man Do", where the cat uses mind control to try to take over Townsville?

What? It's a good show.
posted by jpoulos at 9:13 AM on October 26, 2001

ah, i blogged the kitten as well, but i can't remember where i first saw it (probably blogdex).. i know it's been on a hojillion sites though. i figure if it's been popular for a while, which this has been for a week, it isn't really that neccessary to via it..
posted by lotsofno at 9:37 AM on October 26, 2001

Ya know, I'm a pretty behind-the-times girl so I don't generally see stuff unless it's been blogged to death and spoon-fed to me. (There's a point here, really; I'm not just editorializing). I figure that if it's out there enough for me to have already seen it, then it might be a stretch to imagine it was coincidentally "discovered" by Spoon.

But that's not my point.

My point is that jpoulos is right.... "Can Man Do" totally rocks.

skallas is right. [gasp!]
a link is a link and links make the web go round and nobody owns a link and credit goes to the webmaster of the linked site. I am constantly seeing things blogged that i've already blogged, as were the people who blogged the things i blogged way before i blogged them. so what? bloggers in general sure are a self-impressed lot!
posted by quonsar at 10:48 AM on October 26, 2001

Nobody owns the link? Actually, I do.

Crap. They've got to him already!

Don't look at the kitties!
posted by bondcliff at 12:10 PM on October 26, 2001

o2b: i think kitties has been an inside joke around here (and especially at FilePile for some time. Basically, kitties are the antithesis of nasty mass-murdering terrorists, and kitty pictures are the antithesis of the pr0n you find at FP. Ergo, evil kitties with scary glowing eyes are funny.

Geez, now that I've explained it, I'm not sure I get it anymore.
