I just had baklava for (I think) the first time last week, from a fundraiser booth run by the university Turkish students club. It was indeed like something made in heaven.

For me, owning and using a gun is the simple part. Guns are fun when you're shooting at paper targets. Going out to shoot is very entertaining. Yes, gun stores are often creepy and filling out that form 4473 is nerve wracking, but hunting is a lot more emotionally challenging, and dealing with a dead animal is too. I'm looking forward to more posts.

I know how much MetaFilter loves to hate gun-worshipping survivalists (as do I), so it comes as a surprise to me that all they need, by way of rehabilitation, are some weak platitudes about community and anti-capitalism. This must be an American thing because it makes absolutely no sense to me.

Don't forget to include Russian meddling and voter suppression and possible collision with foreign governments in your overly simple equation. So no, going high is not crap, it's deciding not to be crap.

Sam is a rock star and rock stars are beloved beyond what most people will ever know. I suggest he shock himself into being ok with his body by playing onstage in a tank top then shirtless. I promise no one will care and he will feel a huge release just doing a big F U I am shirtless on stage. Zillions of other musicians have been near naked on stage before him and most are not model material by a long stretch.

whacked with sticks....NO! They are NOT beating the donkeys...it is more whisk to the backside and doesn't harm the little fellow. This did me a great amount of good. Seeing a little town come together for an ageless tradition...all in fun for shits and giggles. MOER PLZ!

Having been near homeless myself quite a few times in my life and having worked with the very poor and homeless for the last 20 odd years I can say with some authority that poverty to the point of actual hunger is...for many...a choice. Anyone who has done what I have for ANY length of time knows the refrain "I haven't eaten in three days." It is the mantra for 99% of the addicts/ alcoholics who seek services.
