genius is as genius does

real genius (not to be confused with reel genius) — or something a little like it — can be found in dusty corners of the web :: not all are evil :: one has a lego portfolio :: this homebrew pipe organ is amazing (this guy also builds marble machines and built a digital camera from a flatbed scanner) :: some teach the rudiments of wisdom :: i like the micronomicon :: i'm sure there are thousands of other shards of genius out there waiting to be discovered :: have a baby genius in your home? try the alphabet for geniuses! (just be careful...)

I've always wished I could keep a notebook like the micrononicon.

A picture I took of the garage while the door was moving.

Awesome. I wish there were more samples of this effect.

just picking out one sentence from the scanner camera page:

On the other end of the belt, I put a tensioned idler, using, of course, the original idler pulley from the scanner. I also put an idler in the middle of the belt. This makes the back of the belt loop approximate an arc more closely, and gives a rate of turret rotation per stepper rotation more consistent over its entire range.

This just makes me feel so inadequate.

Marilyn Vos Savant may have a genius IQ of 218 but so far, I would not consider her a genius. A genius is someone who contributes something of great significance to the world or proves to be exceptionally talented in a specific field. I would call her a potential genius.

She pisses me off because she flaunts her IQ as if that alone makes her great. If I were she, I would hide in a closet because I would feel like a failure

If y'all like the micronomicon, try to get your hands on the Codex Serafinianus. It is just about the coolest book in the world.
