Perhaps the man holding it is just really really small.

We sit in the bars, have a drink or two, and play the juke box. Very soon the faces of the other people turn towards me and they smile. They say: 'We don't know your name, mister, but you're all right, all right.' Harvey and I warm ourselves in these golden moments. We came as strangers - soon we have friends. They come over. They sit with us. They drink with us. They talk to us. They tell us about the great big terrible things they've done and the great big wonderful things they're going to do. Their hopes, their regrets. Their loves, their hates. All very large, because nobody ever brings anything small into a bar. Then I introduce them to Harvey, and he's bigger and grander than anything they can offer me. When they leave, they leave impressed. The same people seldom come back.

I think this article is messed up. 7kg and 21 cm (16 pounds and 7in) is smaller than my cat, who's nowhere near that big. Or maybe my math is messed up?

Could a dezinen of a country that uses sensible measuring correct me?

I know rabbits can get pretty big, but it looks like there's some forced perspective happening in that shot (the head of the rabbit is a lot closer to the camera than the man's head, making the rabbit look larger than it actually is).

John Craven's Newsround used to be the coolest thing ever for post toddler kids.

There was always a crazy big/small/talking/cheap/expensive/oddly-coloured/mutant/felching animal story.

How I miss those days.

Oh, crap, that makes sense. Still, pretty light for such a giant beast. My 20 pound cat is like, half his size.

But Herman can't 'outcute' my wife's rabbits, Nubby and Barrit:

I think gubo's right about the photo; the photographer's made the big rabbit look bigger by the way s/he composed the shot.

Bunnies aren't cute like everybody supposes. they got those beady eyes and twitchy little noses. and what's with all the carrots? what do they need such good eyesight for anyways?

The photo's definitely composed...thoughtfully, shall we say.

And yet I can't shake the feeling that, tonight, the rabbits will take over the earth, with this massive creature as their vicious leader.

Big Bun has evidently discovered the Power of Carrots. Trivia:
• The Longest Carrot recorded in 1996 was 5.14 metres (16feet 10 ½ inches)
• The Heaviest Carrot recorded in the World 18.985 lb. 1998
• It's a myth that Mel Blanc, the voice of Bugs Bunny, was allergic to carrots - he simply did not like them.

P-Soque wondered Why does the huge bunny post get 44 comments?

48. Because no matter how many unique, strange or mindblowing things you've seen on the Internets, it is impossible, IMPOSSIBLE I TELL YOU, to look at that picture and not think, "Holy shit! That's a fucking huge rabbit." While all the comments are worded different they say the same thing. "Holy shit! That's a fucking huge rabbit."
