Caution: causes Firefox to crash, eventually.

That's pretty cool, but I suck horribly at those type of memory games, heh.

For the kids out there, ask your parents 'how do bonobos resolve their differences without fighting?"

What a great vector for a subversive sex-ed campaign!

Hah! I knew it was sex! Those crazy bonobos.

I wish more games involved asking parents, and I wish more parents were attentive enough to look up answers. Meanwhile, I suck at rythm. Keeping a beat is even worse.
Rhythm seems to define itself.

Hah! That's pretty funny. (Left-Right cursor keys don't work for me -- Firefox on Windows.)

This is surprisingly satisfying to play. I love the bonobos' response to a failure; it's as though they're actually thinking about whether that sounded good before coming to a decision. It doesn't make me feel like an idiot, just that I should go try it agin. It just goes to show how much more effective an emotional response is at rewarding players than a score increase. Or maybe it's just the variety of the response that makes it more satisfying. If my score goes up by 10 points twice, then I'm already bored of that. It took at least 10 iterations before the reward seemed repetetive to me. (Granted, this doesn't take into account rewards inherent in success, such as the sound of the rhythm.)

This reminds me how much it's going to suck if they go extinct.

Only 5000 are left. (That's a 95% drop since the mid-eighties.)

It's no Flash though, but Shockwave 3D, made with Macromedia Director (know Adobe).

Eh. On further review, the bonobos only respond to the correct sequence on the bongos and not the actual rhythm. It's still fun, but not as sophisticated as I originally thought.
