"If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations, then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media."

Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha.

No more fear. Just get out there and keep it from happening again.

I blame the mainstream metafilter media

I'm really struck by Palin's comments. It seems like she has about as much grasp of First Amendment protections as someone who claims that having his post removed on a internet forum is a violation of his Constitutional rights.

Revenge Of Bush: One Final Turd

Oh, come on, that's just begging for another.

"It's sort of perplexing to me, because I'm a practical person and plainspoken also, but just cutting to the chase and calling things like I see them, just like most Americans. But this has not left a bitter taste in my mouth, the bitter shots taken by the mainstream media and by some of the elitism there in Washington," Palin said.

So Sarah Palin is the only person allowed to call things as she sees them. Good to know.

Excuse me, I need to punch a pillow.

because I'm a practical person and plainspoken also

I read this and heard it in her voice and I gnashed my teeth. Hell is not that twilight zone episode where the dude has time enough at last and he's stuck on earth with all the books in the world but broken glasses. Hell is having your glasses after all but your subvocalizing is in Palin's voice.

Is this the same mainstream media that repeats Palin's unsubstantiated allegations verbatim? That's the mainstream media that is "restricting" her First Amendment rights? Give me a fucking break.

Obama the Constitutional Law professor has to be laughing his head off right now.

It does make me wonder what the conversation is like when Obama gets his morning update on the McCain-Palin campaign.
