Izzy, the Bernese Mountain Dog, is found safe after Santa Rosa fire. It was probably all the slobber that saved him.

There is a grown-up version of this, guy on my block. He is a pibble named Nesta and he runs right up to the fence around his property and tries to lick my face. (Except when he forgets and picks up one of his toys before running over; then he just stands there at the fence looking at me with his mouth full with a look like "wait, I'm supposed to be doing something, but I don't remember what.")
