Are there any two better words together than "Free Slurpee"?

Today is July 11th. In the Gregorian Calendar, that is the eleventh day of the Seventh month. The free world celebrates it as Free Slurpee Day.

I've only posted this because we all love free slurpees. Also: it is Cow Appreciation Day as well. I'd prefer to get free goods without having to dress up like a cow, but that's just me.

It's too bad the closest 7-11 to me is in FREAKIN CENTRAL FLORIDA!

It's also my birthday. Happy Birthday to me! To celebrate, I'm giving everyone a free Slurpee. Pick yours up at the nearest 7-11. No, no need to thank me. Thank the cows.

I went to 7-11 to collect on your offer of a free slurpee. They ran out of the 7.11 oz cups, and their offer is limited to "while supplies last".

You offer was not limited. You owe me a 64 oz slurpee, or I will have no choice but to pursue the matter through legal channels. Thank you for your time, and have a happy birthday.

Nor do we; ever since Southland Corp. sold all the 7-11's in GA in the 1980s we have had to make do with ICEEs. Googling for "free ICEE day" gets a bunch of hits, but none that suggest I can get a free one today or any other day. The rest of you enjoy your non-quiescently frozen sodas, though!

The two boys strut into the Kwik-E-Mart. "Hello gents," Apu says, "what
will it be?" Milhouse orders a Super Squishy -- "One that's made
entirely out of syrup," Bart adds. Apu is aghast, as are all the other
customers in the store -- even Snake who holds a bag while he points a
gun at Sanjay. "An all-syrup Super Squishy? Oh, s-such a thing has
never been done," Apu explains. Bart pushes the $20 towards him and
says, "Just make it happen." Apu complies, with some trepidation.

He grabs a Super-sized cup and twists the knob on the Squishy machine
from "Recommended Dosage" past "Unhealthy Dosage" to "Experimental".
The machine begins to shake as it ejects goopy green liquid into the
cup. A man runs out of the store in a panic, and Apu sweats, "She won't
hold! She's breaking up!" But the machine dings and stops shaking.
"If you survive, please come again!" he says cordially.

Bart: OK, we're young, rich, and full of sugar. What do we do?
Milhouse: [yelling] Let's go crazy, Broadway style!

As someone hailing from the Slurpee capital of the world, I approve of this post.

Spock, Doctor, Not on display... I know, I know. I did consider your concerns heavily while putting the post together. I was a little concerned about the PepsiBlue accusations coming out. But I erred on the side of giving people the information, and since we had previous free slurpee day posts (last one in 2005) I pulled the trigger. It was an executive decision.

Beware! Slurpees have been known to cause sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia.

Especially free ones.

PastaBagel: I have heard that my distributors have had some trouble holding up their end of my offer. This saddens me, after all my family has done for their family, and rest assured that they will not trouble you again. But any time you find yourself in Portland, ME, I will be happy to make good on my offer.

You couldn't even mention that my home town is the eight time defending Slurpee capital of the world?

I mean it's Winnipeg, what the hell else do we have to celebrate?

So a couple years back, this kid I knew (from the internet, naturally), went to a 7-11 on July 11th, and bought items that, with tax, added up to a total charge of $7.11, and he was rung up at 7:11 PM. He then posted the receipt on his blog.

I don't think it's up anymore, though.

Yes there are. Encased meats.

mrzer0, as someone who had "Cellar Door" as his screensaver for years, and used to be obsessed with writing it everywhere I went, I can't believe I left that one out. Thanks for mentioning it.

Ok. So the Monster Energy "Black Ice" flavor is now available. So I got to try it for free. It's a caffeinated slurpee. This is awesome.

Last time I checked, free slurpees were not available in Canada (home of, as already mentioned, the "Slurpee capital of the world"). Has this changed?

If not: boo. BOOOOOO.

What!?! The second Slurpee I've ever bought, and I buy it on Free Slurpee Day. Either this offer wasn't available in Canada, or the 7/11 teller played me for a rube not an hour ago.

My local 7-11 just told me they only do this in the morning.

Jerks.

and I just got all excited, too ... and drove all the way down there ... man ...
