Tom, where have you been all this time? Welcome back!

I'm ashamed to know this, but it's not "sexy" hands and feet....it's "pretty".

I'm still giggling.

I think this is what SNL is supposed to be like.

Oh man, when I make my daughter perform in glitz pageants, I'm totally using the spray bottle technique. Genius!

Of course, that first condition would have to be met first...

The little girl is a good sport and a good actress.

She looks really familiar to me, what is she from?
posted by ThePinkSuperhero at 4:47 PM on March 4, 2011

When I'm King I'm gonna reclassify baby beauty pageants as child abuse - retroactively. And tape from Toddlers and Tiaras will be admissible as evidence.

This was funny, tho.

OMG this made me so, so happy. I love THanks and I love Toddlers and Tiaras (yes, I'm sick), this is so awesome. Thank you!

Didn't you see his haircut in Davinci Code? He's still funny, just not ha-ha funny.

I figured it out, doesn't the little girl look like the girl from School of Rock? Like her little sister or something?

How many times in life can you make this joke:
Wondering if "TALK DIRTY TO ME" was Sophie's Choice.

A good punchline would have if he did the whole skit and then at the end one of those "greatest generation" guys was standing there in his uniform with a single tear running down his face.

I've been a big Letterman fan forever, but this sadly reminded me that Dave's coasting towards a Carson-esque retirement. I'm never surprised or impressed by anything on his show anymore. It seems like even just taking the camera around the corner to Rupert's is too much of a chore for them anymore. Hate to say it, but the torch has been tossed.

Another good Kimmel sketch.

The only thing they didn't touch on was the fake teeth. And I loved Rhonda Howard!

This seems like an appropriate place to leave this.

When did Kimmel become totally awesome? There had to have been one distinct event that turned him from "ok if you're intoxicated" to "This guy is awesome".

I'm not quite ready to go there, but I do have to say that I happened to see the Hottie Body Hump Club yesterday and lo, I laughed.

You know it is a spoof because all the adults at the "pageant" are much too attractive, or at least normal-looking.

(Has watched these shows too many times. Is scarred.)

Yep, they pretty much nailed it. And yes, I have watched one too many episodes.

So great. My wife and daughter are obsessed with the train wreck that is Toddlers and Tiaras, so I will say that Hanx is way too normal to fit in as a parent on that show. Also, where was the spraytanning?

Another mistake spotted by a person embarrassed to know this: Real pageant parents are HAPPY when their daughters don't win queen. If they don't place in their age group, that means they have won an overall prize, which is what they really want. Queen is for losers. Winners take home Grand Supreme.

Mazes and Monsters... Toddlers and Tiaras... I'm sensing a theme.

The times i've tried to watch Toddlers and Tiaras (mostly from curiosity from seeing clips on The Soup), i've actually felt physically ill. I'm not even a sensitive person to "bad" things, but something about the show hits me somewhere deep. Could be due to abuse issues in my past, but they weren't similar to what goes on in the show. Just really squicks me out, and i'm not exaggerating here either.

That said, this skit is brilliant. From how they nailed it, to the surprise rival at the end. Kimmel has made me laugh more than the others from what i've seen, despite Ferguson pandering to the Dr. Who and nerd groups, he still does the "same jokes" that i see them all do, just with a slightly different flavor.

I keep telling my wife that the show really needs to add little subtitle-type graphics to the "crowning" footage, like "Supreme Queen Beauty = 1st place, Losers bracket", "1st Runner Up, Outfit of Choice = Second Place in a crappy category" or "Grand Supreme Queen = Actual Winner".

Those were AWESOME!

I think Kimmel may just have another viewer.

That was serious, no holds barred, down and dirty, old school celebrity TV comedy.

Thanks for posting this, TPS, it was a good laugh. I had no idea that Toddlers & Tiaras was a real show until I read the comments.

LMAO that was perfect! The only thing "off" was that Sophie was too articulate.

I figured it out, doesn't the little girl look like the girl from School of Rock? Like her little sister or something?

The girl in the parody is Nikki Hahn, but yeah she does look like the girl from School of Rock (Miranda Cosgrove).

The spray bottle made me spit on my keyboard!

The tiny bit just after that where he eats the whole cookie reminded me, as others have said, of how good he's always been as a physical comedian.
posted by Trochanter at 10:12 AM on March 5, 2011

came to say she looks like a baby Miranda Cosgrove but now we know her name is Nikki Hahn. damn. goes to show that no sooner a winner like Miranda is walking out into the door of adulthood there's a baby version of them already stepping on their toes. harsh.

Loved this! They really nailed it - only things missing were the flipper and the spray tan.

And I know I've watched too many episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras when I recognized the Gold Coast pageant director and emcee in the skit.
