Hmmm....maybe while they're not looking, we can do some really bad things. Corporate lobbyists love distractions, especially a major crisis at the end of a legislative session. California is no exception. How has your state legislature been screwing you while this crisis has been going on?

I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of really sneaky stuff going on in government while our attention is diverted.

Luckily, my state legislature only meets about 60 days per year, around January-February. We're safe.

Thought it was going to be a link to some looters. Turns out it is.

On the bailout, I'm not terribly surprised, since this travesty has been in the works for a while now.

The anti-privacy thing seems like typical back-room deal-making. Maybe a little more brazen since we're not really paying attention.

I tried to find out how our representatives voted on these, but the CA Legislature site seems to be designed for obfuscation.
