I was also in attendance. It was a crowd-pleasing moment, to be sure. A very geeky crowd indeed.

Adam was pretty funny on the Nerdist podcast a while back. Very very NSFW.

Last time I went to karaoke in San Francisco I saw a hipster sing "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" in the voice of a Keebler Elf.

I liked this better.

After a certain point all UK authors just turn into Wizards.

I don't know what trickery Adam was up to there but that was definitely Smeagol on the phone! Not Gollum.

No relevant content, I just have to say I love the delicious Minnesotaness of this post. That is all.

This thread is officially immortal, if only for the introduction of the neologism "nerducken".

I once stuffed a nerd inside another nerd but that was a another kind of party altogether.

I'm looking through asavage's Ask MeFi responses. When Adam Savage tells you to quit your job, you'd better f-in' do it.

On that thought, anyone going to Convergence Con this weekend?

Don't you love how someone posted "I want to be Adam Savage" and then Adam Savage shows up with "Well this is how you do it." ? I love AskMe.

He refused to get muttonchops when I suggested so who cares.

Does anyone else get the sense that Adam Savage would make a fantastic next-door neighbour?

Just imagine going for a beer with him or having him over for a backyard barbeque.
posted by bwg at 5:27 PM on June 28, 2011

He could be the wacky neighbor always blowing things up and wandering around with half a beer and a contraption made out of leftover car parts and garbag ags and you kind of keep your distance until one Forth of July he unveiled a combination grill-canon-rocket that sends your steak into the ionosphere to be microwaved by ambient radition and you're all daaaaang but he doesn't even notice cause he's too busy trying to figure out how to weaponize the bouncy castle and now his dog is all in there looking expectant and wearing a helmet and WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW?
