This is brilliant.

If I had a time machine, I'd go back to 1979 and tell this 11 year-old that people will be viewing and enjoying his work in the year 2012 via a global network of computers.

Then I'd kill Hitler.

"underage artist" sounds really unnecessarily creepy.

I've written of my Alien encounter. I never did anything cool like this, though.

I heart his previous work...Star Wars, age 9.

I'm up to Page 11.

From the comments "Panel 2 - these eggs appear to be in various stages of animated bounce."

I'm really enjoying this.

Fantastic idea. I wish I hadn't destroyed my own lovingly-drawn Star Wars spoof in a fit of madness.

What weirds me out is the fact that his Ash looks a little too much like Pokemon Ash.

You know, for a 9-to-11 year old child, there's some pretty good drawing in there. Did this person grow up to be an artist?

Apparently so.

Aw, shit. I thought this had already been posted to MeFi. It's really great though.

The ending of Planet of the Apes (spoiler alert), drawn by a five-year-old (my son) who has never seen it.

I like it. Like you aren't legally allowed to be an artist until you're 18.

Man, it is a crime that this wasn't already on the internet's radar, and it's really charming reading back through the writeups up until the most recent entry and seeing him joking about the lack of readership in that coping way you do with a languishing project with five readers.

I have to go back for Star Wars now.

Aw, just got a lovely email:

Dear Arthur,
It seems that your teeny post about my comics on Metafilter have had an incredible effect! So I'm just writing to give a big thank you.

5000 people crashed into ALIEN site in one day and spilled over into the others. You must have quite a following! I had to move the sites to a better webhost because the load was too great (thanks for that :) Victim of my own success.

Anyway - thanks again. 9-11 year old me would be stunned!

Best regards and many thanks - again,
John White

Art, just finding this. I was 13 when Blade Runner came out and without going to John's extent but similarly constrained from seeing the film, I certainly invented one on my own, fragments of wich are retained to this day. I will go into detail when we finally set a day at the cantina.
