North Korea Blocks Workers From South at the Border Despite a long history of animosity between the Koreas, this is Lil' Kim's first showdown with South Korea and the West since taking office on Christmas Eve, 2011. Mr. Kim has recently raised tensions with a torrent of threats to attack the United States and South Korea with pre-emptive nuclear strikes. The UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, said he feared North Korea was on a collision course with the rest of the world that could lead to war.

I think Clinton in 1994 came closer than anyone realises to this going Code Red on him. Hopefully this blows over as well.

This is actually an interesting action because the factory, while employing SK citizens, was more than just a cultural tie: as I understood it, the factory made actual hard currency money for NK.
