Their whole lives are a delicate cycle.

Musicians Kimya Dawson and Aesop Rock have been working for a while on a project they call The Uncluded. Their album is called Hokey Fright. It comes out on May 7. You can listen to the whole thing streaming right now here. The video for "Delicate Cycle" is here. The video features Lil Bub, who is an Internet-famous cat that Robert DeNiro likes. The Uncluded can also help you catch a frog.

Cool, I'm going to have to listen to this whole thing tomorrow. I've already listened to "Delicate Cycle," and I thought it was pretty good, and not too twee.

This also has a cameo from Ramen Noodle the Wonder Poodle, who is really deserves just as much attention as Lil Bub.

I might spend too much time watching animal videos on the internet.

Delicate cycle seems like a decent song, I liked the video even more.

Disappointed that Lil Bub is not Bubb Rubb Jr.

I really love Aesop Rock and I really don't enjoy Kimya Dawson. Delicate Cycle is the second of their songs that I've heard, and in both cases, I feel like Aes' voice just clashes with the rest of it. Still, he makes it a little easier to tolerate Kimya, somehow. On the upside, I was actually a bit worried about AR's mental state after the awesome but grim None Shall Pass, so at least it looks like he's lightening up a little.

Lil Bub frightens me.

I'm actually very optimistic for this. Aesop's voice is a bit of a strange juxtaposition with the music, so it might fall flat; but I do like Delicate Cycle, I can't think of any precedents to this sort of thing, and the fact that he's trying something with an equal possibility of being strange and wonderful or falling over makes me glad. There's only so much you can do with the Rhymesayers sound before diminishing returns start to set in.

Oh, Jesus, for a minute there I thought you said Lil B.

He's released another album in the interim, Skelethon, which is where the Dawson collaboration started.

Bub is a total sweetiepie. I got to pet her at the local shelter awhile back. Her guy is really cool, too.

I quite liked the video on mute. I found it a lot easier to enjoy the visual message when I wasn't trying to get my head around the music itself. And anything with Lil Bub is OK by me.

box - i read Lil B and A$AP ROCKY. which would make this a whole other level of weird.

Super excited about this. I loved their collaboration on Crows 1 on Skelethon.

huh, that's the only album of his I've ever owned so I assumed that was his regular style. Fucking awesome record though.

I'll probably give this one a shot, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

this is awesome, and thanks for putting together such a good post around it. I totally have been way more lazy than that when posting neat projects. Cheers.

Put that on a list of things I never thought I'd hear. But why not.

Yeah, I heard, but I haven't gotten around to it. I suppose I could wait till I hear that before I decide if he really needs to call a hotline.
