I think you mean It Takes Two. (I feel like there was about a year where that yelp-shout sample was in every single dance song, but that may just be the fog of memory.)

No, Horace Rumpole, you're right. I don't know which James Brown bit has been sampled more, that yelp or the snare from Funky Drummer.

Okay, I have two tween girls, so I'd ruled fun. out as DEAD TO ME because of the nonstop constant singing of it all during playdates, but that video is actually kind of rad. I'm back in.

Pretty sure my eight year old daughter could rock the Ice-T lines if I don't give her her allergy meds. I see a really interesting fall music recital in our future!

Welp, it's official - seeing reruns of Law & Order: SVU has officially ruined me for listening to old Ice T tracks. Huh. Kind of disappointing.

My 4-year-old daughter LOVES "Some Nights." Calls it "Daddy's marching song" - it's on her very own mix, along with the Black Keys ("Howlin' For You," aka "Da dat da dat da") and "Peaches" by TPUSA.
