Yep it's another proposal video. The woman being proposed to works for Washington Bus, a group which focuses on youth involvement in Democracy and was instrumental in helping get Marriage Equality passed in Washington state. SPOILER ALERT: She gets to take advantage of that law!

Just the night before, we were talking about romance and I pretty much told her she wasn't romantic. I am eating crow ... and will be for a long time."

Direct link to the YouTube video, because UpWorthy is an obnoxious layer between videos and the viewer.

These proposal videos always make me look bad. For me, I was sitting with my (then) girlfriend in our apartment and we had finished dinner and then watched a movie and I then asked her to marry me.

When these things pop up while we're watching TV I quickly change the channel.

These proposal videos always make me look bad.

All proposals make me look bad. Mine went like this:

I was looking into teaching English in Ecuador. I'd be gone for however long. My girlfriend of 3 1/2 years got upset and wanted to know where she fit into my plans.

I said that I was planning to spend the rest of my life with her. If she wanted to call that a proposal, that was fine. I was serious as a heart-attack. Then I went back to doing whatever I was doing at the time.

That was in 1995, and we are still married, so we're doing something right.

Ah! So adorable! Oh, yay. HOORAY FOR ROMANCE!

I sort of assume that when my gf and I finally get married (which seems like a sure thing but one never knows) it will be more like "hey. so, whaddaya think - is it time?" "oh, sure."

Adding the vest would have made it sublime. Still pretty wonderful.

These proposal videos always make me look bad.

I believe for every one person who internally squees at these videos, there are 9 more people (like me) who think, "oh thank GOD that didn't happen to me."

This was lovely, though. Well wishes to them both!

That was lovely and beautiful, and hilarious. Vote Bot should be at everyone's proposal.

These proposal videos always make me look bad.

Apparently my father-in-law proposed by saying "If I ask you to marry me, will you stop crying?"; they'd been dating about four weeks.

They are still married over thirty-five years later. I am under the impression that she stopped crying.

I mumbled something about health insurance and prison visitation rights. It took her a minute or so to realize I was proposing.

On the other hand, if I had tried something showy and dramatic, she would have been absolutely furious. NOT her thing.

I did like this video, though. Different people have different preferences.

And of course, yay for marriage equality!

I was proposed to on vacation in Maui.
We got married the day before we flew home. :-)

I'm a bit embarrassed and unworthy to see strangers' intimate moments on video.

Marriage proposals, prom date proposals, consummations, etc.

I do both. I like being a part of other people's personal celebrations but don't want them in mine. Same way I love a juicy, candid, messy blog but would never, ever, EVER put myself out there like that.

O RLY?

My boyfriend and I were packing to move to another state, and I was taping box one-million-and-two shut when I said, "Jesus, I guess we should throw our mothers a bone and get married."

We have been married for twelve years.

This is almost exactly my parents' story, and they're still going strong 30+ years in!

Now that I am at home and finally watched the video, it was beautiful. Although I look forward to the day when everyone can throw their mothers a bone.

That was so sweet.

I was really surprised though, that a Seattleite willingly jaywalked, even to finish a proposal.
