The power of that game is such that this short film gave me goosebumps. Was the guy live action made to look like CGI?

I played Another World on Atari ST. I saw that hand reaching for the pistol and thought "the circle is now complete". Goosebumps, definitely.
I hope they contact Éric Chahi and get his blessing though...

It's insane - this game is 23 (!) years old.

I don't think I ever finished it or played it all that much - but I can remember that intro like it was yesterday. The elevator's light going down the doors, the opening of the soda can, ...

I still play video games, probably chasing that feeling of wonder, but somehow I'm afraid that nothing will ever match the fascination of those years.

The Wikipedia article has some interesting history. He wrote a custom game engine from scratch in assembly.

If you liked the ending of Another World, you might want to avoid the sequel Heart of the Alien.

If you like not dying when when you get to the middle of a hallway the ceiling collapses for no reason, you might want to avoid Heart of the Alien

In real life would a particle physicist really be driving a ferrari? Hmm?

That's what I noticed about the Ferrari... in the game it was cool, perhaps because the guy is just driving up to his underground lab at night, not trying to impress others, just going to work--but in the video he's driving through town, it looks all flashy, and... I don't know.... it makes the character come across as more douchey.

No, no, no, no, it's: "My tuba."
You see, Big Guy's orchestral works were incredibly subversive on his world; that's why he was jailed. While working on his magnum opus, a piece that would send his brethren into a rebellious frenzy, he realized that he needed a tubist. Sadly, none of his kind have lips (these are very important to a tubist). Now, after being freed from his cage, he shares with you his motivation for this unlikely alliance. You are the missing piece of the puzzle in his masterwork.

I finished out of this world on the genesis. At first I was a little disappointed it wasn't more like Flashback but once I FINALLY figured out how to break free from the cage I was totally captivated. That was one of the first times a story in a game moved me and really dug itself in to my head. Man, what an amazing game.

Blueberry, I know what you mean! It took me a while to take the protagonist seriously because he wasn't as cool as the Flashback guy to me but the Ferrari + Secret Lab made me at least consider the possibility.

That lab was supposed to be a secret lab?

I thought it was just a lab.
