These are great, and the links below to other embroidered works are pretty nifty, too.

Makes me want to get back into embroidery. I used to do jackets and shirts, but I'm afraid they've passed to the great Rag Bin in the Sky, since that's been 20 30 years ago.

I've been going back to look at these, it's threadpainting. I'd love more photographs of inprogress work The coat on the fawn is remarkable up close because she's layered the back somehow - couching or just the density of stitches and she's using sewing thread in multiple shades to create that texture. That's thousands of tiny stitches - reminds me of a chinese brocade gown I saw at a museum up close that I thought was woven but was on closeup so heavily and minutely embroidered all over in tiny knots and stitches.
