So that was a rubber puppet of Gabriel Byrne singing about the joy of gay sex.

That is something that happened.

That was some serious wrong-side-of-the-uncanny-valley action there.

The two previouslies are the same.

This was pretty awesome. Tangentiallly, I've always been curious what the deal is in porn that it still refers, pretty much exclusively as far as I know, to "shemales" (which is what the song uses in that context). Like what is the linguistic/sociological/?? thing that keeps such a word going when it's not really used elsewhere, especially since it's often-but-not-always presented as just another category, with all the lack of judging. Does anyone happen to know? Wikipedia notes its use but doesn't seem to explain, and I'm hesitant to google it because googling porn gets awkward fast.

I've a Horse Outside is on my frequent play list, and this one may make it too, if I can get the video out of my brain.

Either that last scene was about prison sex or it was about bathroom cruising. I'm not entirely sure which. I hope the latter.

I prefer to look at it as the ventriloquist achieving a successful resolution of certain anxieties he had previously only been able to express through the medium of Gabriel Byrne (not to be confused with Gay Byrne).

Is there something I've missed about Gabriel Byrne that would lead to their choosing his persona for this, or is it just "randomly weird"?

I'm embarrassed to admit that the first time I saw this video a month or two ago, I ended up watching Gay Byrne do a very good interview with Gabriel Byrne.

Was that James Spader and Peter Gabriel in the audience?
