Bootylicious vs. Smells like teen spirit (MP3-link). Although it might be a little of the mainstream META-postings, I chose to post this piece of Soulwax music (MP3) because I really want to hear your reactions. The energy attained in this synergetic combination exceeds even math rock.

Soulwax rocks as does that song but I think this might have been delt with quite well by this thread a couple of days ago. If it wasn't according to the allseingeyeofmatt™ then at least it's a good link between similar threads.

Keep it up though, we need more cool links!

I LOVE THIS! Always thought Beyonce went through her vocal melismas like a heavy-metal guitarist anyway. A huge hit if it ever went out.

I have no idea what song that is behind SLTS. The effect is kind of neat though. I suppose it's not too hard to find two popular songs that have a 4/4 beat and the same V/C/V/C/B/C formula.

There's a Boston band called Jim's Big Ego that does a great cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit crossed with Kumbiya (sp?)

It rocks all right, but it also tends to remind us how many pop songs are actually the same song. See Oops The Real Slim Shady Did It Again.mp3 for another example.

What is all this jelly that they are talking about by the way?

Y'know, I don't think you're ready for it, donkey.

Went to poke around in the previous 'bootleg' thread and discovered that the www.thedr.freeserve.co.uk server had been shut down (explanation here).

Does anyone have (or know where to get) the "Osymyso-Introspection" mp3 that everyone is raving about?

Much obliged.

I know I am not ready, (they sure beat that into my head), but what is it?? What the hell are they talking about? Why would I even want some of this "jelly"? I believe I prefer jam anyway.

Easily found at Audiogalaxy This remains my favorite audio-only download source. Some people have reported spyware issues...but no problems for me...as far as I can tell.

The Missy Elliott -vs- Nirvana bootleg by Conway is better than this one though, I really don't think this works that well...

I really liked the Christina Aguilera/The Strokes mp3 though. I was shocked at how beatiful the two songs went together.

The Strokes go beautifully with anything.

But seriously, I've been seeing(hearing) more of this type of music lately. Is this going to explode into the new fad?

I have to admit some of it is _really_ talented, and enjoyable.

bondcliff - I am so glad you mentioned Jim's Big Ego! I used to see them all the time when I lived in Boston, but haven't heard much of them since I moved. That Smells Like Teen Spirit / Kumbiya cover is great.

Mapalm, I think you can find the "Osymyso-Introspection" mp3 either here or here.

I think this might get pretty popular. Given how many songs sound the same, most people are hungry for anything that sounds new.
