This is more entertaining than That 80s Show. And this is just plain sexy.

I would love, love, love a pair of those navy and yellow upside-down Nike-like sneakers.

Yes I would.

Oh. My. God. We called that FASHION????

Check out the women's fashion in the second link. Amazing, but the prices are still kinda the same as they are today.

i so.want one of those "here comes a brownie" t-shirts. it'd be so feelthy if worn by a thirty-year-old man.

AH! I had that "Here Comes a Brownie/There Goes a Brownie" tshirt in 1980! I remember those brown socks with the ugle orange tassels... ick.

So... on that first link, where is the "Smash-cube-with-hammer" option? That was the only way I could solve the thing aside from taking it apart. Smashing was much more satisfying, though less stylish.

Licking tar-soaked sandpaper is more entertaining than That 80s Show, but the Rubik's Cube thing was kinda nifty.

There's a That 80s Show?! We only get the 70s version down under. (I keep waiting for the Red to throw Eric out the back of a fast-moving van...'Can you fly, Bobby?')

Anybody care to translate the 1980 pricetag for a VCR to today's dollars?

I can't, but that was the first thing I noticed, too. Nine hundred bucks for a VCR that's bigger than my car! Them was the days.

obiwanwasabi, you cannot go wrong with a Robocop reference. It's quite possibly the greatest film in the history of Western Civilization.

According to the government's own inflation calculator, $900 in 1980 would be $1935 today.

Better have freeze frame if they're charging prices like that!

Don't look now... but the stylish yellow jacket in panel A is being modeled by none other than Tourist Guy!!!

And the off the shoulder/asymetrical look is back in too! Ick.

I actually had those Steelers Underoos, although I just wore the top like a t-shirt. I was stylin' dude.

Um. That was not fashion. JCPenny was never fashion.

Paris you blasphemer, my dad works in the JC Penney home furnishings department!

um, why is George Bush modelling in that upper lefthand picture?

rush, stop cheating -- that's in the image tags, you scamp. (It's the eyebrows, I tell you.)

i guess i check to see how things are done every now and then, but do you seriously view source on every page you go to?

forget smashing the cube, i'm all about peeling the stickers off and moving them around.....although it only works a few times before your simply left with a black cube, when all the stickers have lost their stickiness

lotsofno: It has a George W referrence in the title tag, which shows up when you hover over the link.

Title attribute. Title tag is something different.

Wow. Confession: Back when I was a horny, introverted, lonely and furiously shy adolescent, the Sears and JCPenney catalogs were my only friends...especially the misses' and women's underwear and swimwear. The skater in the blue outfit looked depressingly familiar, too.

rush, stop cheating

I didn't SEE the image tag! I promise!

It gets worse. That price is only for the recorder part. If you want a tuner to pull in TV signals, you have to buy the Video Tuner Pack next to it -- then you can record anything on channels 2 - 13.

And don't miss Item E: the Film/Tape Converter. Am I wrong or is that a film projector shining into a box with what looks like Item G attached to the side? Any bets that the box contains a mirror set at a 45 degree angle?
