Sex! Now that we have your att... hello? 'Boring sex': latest 'global problem', or the cry of a world full of jaded misogynists?

I'd rather have boring sex than the current no sex I'm getting.

I think you mean "misogamists," not "misogynists." Either that, or I don't know what you mean at all.

Well, I imagine in cultures a sex-saturated as the industrialized nations are. Sex eventually becomes just another mudane(albiet pleasureable) activity, like swimming or watching football. I remember I was in a video store recently where I saw a box with a picture of Nina Hartley nudeon the cover. Even though Nina's attractive, it didn't excite me the way it should've, because I suppose at this point nudity is just another suit of clothes to me. I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing, but i'm leaning towards bad.

Sure, benjh, except that you're free to seek out exciting sex right now. One of the worst things about boring sex is the trapped feeling you get when you're committed to someone who just lays there.

People may be boring when they're fucking, but in general they're fucking boring in most ways. Ever noticed how boring most people's sense of style is? Their senses of humor? Their conversation? Their aspirations?

"It's caused by modern living"

No shit, brother. Convenience leads to atrophy.

Why does this article read less like "global problem" and more like "the author's personal problem?" It sounds like a problem people develop over time, not something everyone develops all at once.

And my sex life is great. So there.

I think it's the cry of a world full of us jaded monogamists. --Uh, no, it's probably just me.

you can read the whole issue of the journal here. Of note is this article which I simply call Porn Made Boring.

Misogynists, monogamist, or misogamist, I think the point is that there is a lot of bored people out there. I know one of them.

It's not that there isn't any sex it's just that people don't think they have the time to engage in meaningful sex. For many people today it's always "hurry up and on to the next thing"

Jeez, that really is Porn Made Boring. Gack. The writer should go to suicidegirls for a more refreshing take.

Porn is so readily available that it does become boring. Real sex, however, needn't be. I personally blame narcism. If both you and your partner are capable of advancing beyond the "What's in it for me?" mindset, and are equally satisfied giving pleasure as recieving it, the problem just doesn't seem to occur. Mutual onanism is by it's own nature terminally flawed.

Since when was good sex misogynist? I'm confused.

Good male gay sex might be misogynist, it's cutting the girls out of the action, but beyond that it seems pretty tit for tat..
