I participated in a test of something very much like this a few years ago. I told the people doing the test that this was at best attempting to fill a niche in society that did not and should not exist, and that it actively discouraged my mindfulness instead of promoting it.

One time somebody forwarded to me an e-mail in Outlook announcing a colleague's death. In the metadata in the header they had a box-tick with "important because of the people involved in the conversation". Another time I got an e-mail announcing a death that was written in comic sans.

Automation automates thoughtlessness.
