Haddish loves goals like Pelé loves goals.

"Some people are better at being themselves than others are. They're the ones at home instantly in any untried environment, the way a cloud looks just right no matter where it is in the sky. They seem to keep slightly better rhythm with the beat of the universe than other people—noticing things faster, making connections more quickly. They're people like Tiffany Haddish, who has been on this whale-watching expedition for ten minutes and is already its undisputed captain—a turn of events no doubt surprising to the disputed captain, i.e., the man commanding the vessel and ostensibly hired to lead the tour. Gleeful in mutiny, Haddish's fellow passengers beseech her to hijack microphone duties from Captain Nick. Only one or two of them recognize her as a professional comedian and newly minted movie star; to the majority of middle-aged white people on this boat, she is simply a confident woman with three free hours to search for whales off the coast of Los Angeles. A woman whose commentary they enjoy." There's Something Funny About Tiffany Haddish

She was amazing on Drunk History. I feel like this quote from the article: "because the only thing conservatively dressed white men can do around Haddish is smile and clap somewhat nervously. Colbert does that..." pretty much sums up her performance there too. She's a blessing.

Tiffany's story is amazing...she's made the rounds on talk shows (Ellen, Trevor Noah, Colbert, etc.) and her ability to tell her story in a funny way is amazing. Her book is also great (The Last Black Unicorn); I read it and was amazed at some of the hardships she's been through. Good for her that she's having her moment in the sun, and I hope it lasts for a while.

Be nice if she stopped encouraging folks to drink turpentine.

Yeah, top 3 takes I've seen so far:

1. Tiffany is awesome and so's Caity.
2. Please don't drink turpentine for real, anyone.
3. WHO BIT BEYONCE WE MUST KNOW

And yes I concur with all three but especially that last one.

I really hope the Beyhive is right now poring over Getty Images, TMZ, Instagram, etc... to pin down exactly at which party Haddish met Beyoncé and listing out who else was there. We need to know -- the world needs to know -- who bit Beyoncé.

I urge everyone to watch that "Tiff Tips" video – she would slay in the Human Relations category on Ask Metafilter.

I know the turpentine's been brought up twice in only eight comments, but I really can't let go of what surrounds that bit of the interview: that if the government says it's bad for you, it's obviously a lie to... what? Keep us from finding out the health benefits of turpentine? When she says that slaves drank turpentine, and the interviewer says, uh, but they were in pretty bad health, and her answer is that not all of the slaves had access to turpentine, that just pings, like, antivaxxer-levels of bad-wrong brainwashed conspiracy getting its hooks into her. Like, please do not become the Jenny McCarthy of THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW WHAT BLACK PEOPLE KNEW DURING SLAVERY!

It really sours the entire interview for me, because it's so frighteningly wrong and so headed down the "they're lying to us because they don't care if we get sick" mentality that the antivaxxers have.
