Paint by Monster songs now up on Soundcloud

Paint By Monster (previously), everyone's favourite singing puppet art educator, has put some of his adorable songs up on Soundcloud. I've had them on a loop all day, especially 7 Holes in Your head and Giant Terrible Robot, which includes the greatest line ever written: "He was a big industrial trash heap, with a mean look on his face... But why did they give him a face?"

I have to thank MetaFilter for putting me onto this monster.

Dan Wright, the talent behind Paint by Monster, contacted to me after I posted effusively about his work on Twitter and Facebook. I more or less begged him to put some of his songs up on iTunes or the like so I could listen to them and learn to sing them to my 5 year old son. And here we are.

His channel is woefully under-viewed. I doubt he's making a cent from this whole project :-(

Monsters, monsters aaaand robots! Paint by Monster is the best. I've got a water brush in my bag these days partly because of his reminders to go make some art.

PBM is a lovely kids' show that has really positive messages inspired by Wright's faith. It's great to see something with genuine moral messages that aren't overly preachy or religiously exclusive.

Well my four-month old seems love his Pi Day song, and my twelve-year old art fanatic is enthralled by his video on lines, so thanks Dan. Keep it up.

I'm funding him on Patreon, so I know he makes at least a few cents for every video he makes! Although if you take into account production time and the work he puts in, maybe there's no actual profit in there...

But I am surprised by how few views his videos get. His videos are done amazingly well and are just all-around great.

My daughter and I LOVE Paint By Monster, and we were lucky enough to make a cameo appearance on a recent video with our Bologna Man. Any day a new episode appears is the best day of our week, and I wish there were more episodes--if only to help the loop we watch them on get a little bit longer.
