Every once in a while, a dog video comes along that makes me laugh so hard, it wakes up my own dog, who gives me the stinkeye, as if to say "Not only did you wake me up, but it was to laugh at ANOTHER DOG?"

"Got the dog's arse" sounds like one of those expressions that, while technically English, can only really be understood by the British.
I like the idea of that phrase meaning something like "tried to do something simple but got it completely arse-backwards".

Now I'm choosing to reinterpret "Mods are asleep, post dogbutts" as "Mods are asleep, post-dogbutts" - i.e. "Mods are taking a well-deserved nap after hugging dogbutts."
