Perfect for a Friday afternoon that needs rockin'.
Admit that -- as you predicted -- I am not familiar with this band. Thanks!

Jesus, that set is so tight you could set your watch to it and the keyboardist has a voice made for rock n roll.
Excellent post

Ahhhhh...Fanny. Haven't heard them in a long time. You gotta admit, when a band from that era was good and tight, it was a powerful thing.
Great post! Thanks!

Yeah and she tears that Hammond apart -- who the fuck is she and where did she go?

So that blue screen. What was going on behind them as they played on air? I'm guessing trippy psychedelic video effects, like the lead singer turning into an endless tunnel of overlapping lead singers, and stuff like that.

Nickey Barclay doesn’t talk about Fanny any more. Interview requests fell on deaf ears. “After Fanny broke up, it seemed like Nickey couldn’t stand to be herself,” confides Jean. “For a while she played in England, then in Ireland, and she used to call herself Annie Laurie. That was her persona. Then she moved to Australia. And from what we know she is not in good health. But Nickey had a very hard time with her identity, so who knows what happened in the context of being raised in this dysfunctional family?”posted by terrapin at 12:28 PM on February 22, 2019

I'm guessing this clip is the studio feed, and not the broadcast feed which would have had all the effects dropped in. Yeah, probably psychedelic light show strobing and stuff. That, or monster close-ups of the band at work.

Here's Nickey, in her own words. (I didn't realize she had a solo album!)

Wow. I never paid much attention to them when I was a kid because they were a little older and, to me, "adult rock". Really good. Love the drummer.

Checking in. ~10:20 of SLYT
Strangely enjoying the breaks between songs. No cuts in the video. Leave them in, people!

As a wee bairn I haaated the psychedelic bluescreen nonsense. In contrast, I love this well-shot and -edited vid with zero distractions.
Of course it only works when the band is bringing it.

Great stuff, kind of like Nashville Pussy if they'd made more constructive life choices.

Damn, I was just searching to see if anyone had made a post about Fanny yet. They fuckin' ROCK.
Suzi Quattro had nothin' on them. Fanny should be a household name (in some anglophone countries).
Fanny, and The Shaggs, should both be in the hall of fame.
