Fuckbois of Literature is a weekly podcast [iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud] about terrible men in literature, hosted by Emily Edwards. There have been three episodes so far, the first focusing on the "patron saint of the modern fuckboi", Lord Byron, featuring Alisha Grauso, Amanda Timpson and Jessica Ellis. In the second episode the host and Emmet Cameron defend Holden Caulfield. And in the latest episode "Doctor Manhattan, Put on Some Clothes", Edwards and Dave Child discuss Watchmen.

This is everything I want from a podcast. I am only a little mad I didn't think of it first.

While I have a rather different definition of “fuckboi”, I nevertheless appreciate this concept.

Eagerly awaiting the spin-off podcast "Fuckbois of History", starting with "Our Founding Fuckbois".

Am I being dim or is there literally no simple way to get an episode audio file without signing up or logging in to something which might or might not allow downloads (presumably Soundcloud does)? On Firefox I'd usually play the stream and View Page Info > Media > Save but that isn't happening.

Pronounced like “Theydon Bois”, not as from the French?

The episode pages seem to have straight up mp3s.

Yes, pronounced like Theydon Bois (which, according to Wikipedia, is also a purposeful misspelling of “boys”).

So, they just did an episode on Pride and Prejudice and boy oh fuckboi wasn’t there enough time to get into all the fuckboiery in the book. They didn’t even mention Mr. Collins, for one.

Fuckbois of Pride and Prejudice should be a multipart subseries.

Mr. Collins is the most true to himself and dammit he says what he means to say. He does not want to waste his time, nor will he waste a lady's time.

There's something to be said for sincerity about being awful. And Mr. Collins is just the one to say it.

That scene when Mr. Collins decides not to pursue Jane and switches to Elizabeth without skipping a beat is such goddamn yecch.
