The fifth (and final) season premiere of Jane the Virgin featured a huge revelation:
Jane's husband Michael (who died in Season Three but was revealed to still be alive in the finale of Season Four) has amnesia and doesn't recognize her. After finding out the news, Jane gave a seven-minute monologue about time, memory, and marriage. The scene is all the more remarkable when you realize that Gina Rodriguez, who plays Jane, directed the episode as well, and learned it in "about an hour and a half".

It was an incredible scene!

Mod note: Comment removed; if you want to share a transcript of the monologue, that's cool but please put it somewhere and link to it vs. just posting the whole thing in-thread.

I nth that her performance was amazing (already mentioned on FanFare).
I do wonder how well the amnesia techniques would work on someone IRL. That sounds horrifying.

I've been thinking about this wonderful monologue for days. Then I saw this comic(SMBC), and I liked how they go together.
