curious to know what kind of acoustic guitar pickup that guy endorses

My partner put this on for us and it's been such a blast, definitely my speed for a concert not having to leave the house. They've been really putting on a great show with no one in the audience.

See also Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie doing live streams from his house for the next two weeks, every day at 4pm PST! (YT link)

"Couchtour" has only been getting stronger over the years. Rather then schlepp all the way to the Cap, $45 bucks for the webcast of Phil's Birthday Show was the plan before they were cancelled.

"Couchtour" has only been getting stronger over the years.

I helped build a startup just about 10 years ago that did exactly this, including direct engagement between the fans and the artist. Payments too.

Too bad the dude who ran it was kinda insane. It still exists in zombie form, but if it wasn't literally still 98% of what me and my the rest of my fellow non-insane coworkers built back in the early teens, it would probably be making 100's of millions of dollars in the near future. Oh well.

If things on the internet are permanent, I want it known I love Al Barr.

Had to miss it. Can y'all tell me where in the set they performed Going Out in Style?

I caught bits and pieces and was amazed at the energy they could put in with no audience!

I saw them in small sweaty clubs in the early 2000's warped tour in the mid 2000's and the most recent large venue tour with Rancid, and they haven't lost anything.

Setlist. They dedicated You'll Never Walk Alone to their friends in Italy about 2/3 the way through.

Probably the first St. Patty's in a while they haven't played Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced, but I suppose it's a more sober time now. They do know how to rock.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks for the post.

It was a weird experience to see them play without a crowd. I was worried they'd be flat without the audience's energy but it was a hell of a show.

Frank Turner also played live at the same time. I solved the difficult choice by going out to buy water. *sigh*

Is there any way to watch these streams today?

I saw part of this last night, and it looks like they've got the recording on Twitch?

This might be worth a FPP but NPR has a regularly updated list of streaming concerts by day.

I watched. The Dropkick Murphys put on a great show, all the more remarkable given the lack of an audience. I first saw DKM ~20 years ago at a Van's Warped Tour and have had a soft spot for them since.

A local Irish-ish band called Cutthroat Shamrock [FB link] started playing after the Dropkick Murphys show, and they brought the goods too.

It was a glorious night.

Ooh here's another one -- Willie Nelson, Nathaniel Rateliff and a bunch more on Thursday. Maybe we could find a place to collect these?
