Heh, I've had that conversation more than once so I'd say it's quite true to life, given the wrong circumstances.;)

I hate to put a downer on it, but my friend sent me this link a few weeks ago and while he thought it was hilarious, I didn't get it. What's so funny about two characters who keep saying pie? I viewed some more of the Flash animations, and still.. couldn't get it. It was just pointless. Someone care to fill me in?

I mean, I find 'ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US' and South Park funny, so I can't be that behind the curve, right?

Donkey seems appropriate given this earlier post.

"Let's stop for a moment to admire the rotating pies."*

*Warning: No actual rotating pies appear on this page.

BTW, would I be safe in guessing that this is where "Brown says eat more pie" comes from? Didn't have time to watch 'em all, but I hate an unexplained meme.

THANK YOU crunchland. Geez, I saw this last week, regaled my g/f with stories of pie, pie, pie, pie, pie all weekend (hey, we're a craaaazy couple), but then couldn't find it again. Now she knows I wasn't making it all up.
She still looks at me funny, though.

Is this the Silly Friday Thread? Okay. I'm a cow! Not work safe. I refuse to make a whole thread for this.

The cow thing? Doubull* post.

*I'm udderly moortified that I made that pun, but sometimes you just have to milk something for all it's worth.

Now I am really glad I did not post it as a thread. =)

Now that's funny.

Shelly: Do you want some more pie? A whole pie?

Gordon: YES I WOULD MISS JOHNSON. AND A PIECE OF PAPER AND A PENCIL. I PLAN ON WRITING AN EPIC POEM ABOUT THIS GORGEOUS PIE.

Could we at least have a little forewarning that I needed to be stoned to watch that? I mean, I could have prepared. Now it's just wasted on me not being wasted.
posted by eyeballkid at 12:39 PM on July 26, 2002

That's funny -- I am stoned, and I still don't get it.

It makes me hungry, though.

PinkStainlessTail -- The "brown says have more pie" is from a weird TV campaign for UPS. There is one of the series where a large man says "Brown says 'have more pie.'"

I think.

Thanx.

Funny? Well, the timing where Weebl's "You have pie?" is followed at such awkward length by Bob's "Yes" seems like a good subtle touch. What does Bob mean, he has pie?
posted by Zurishaddai at 2:46 PM on July 26, 2002

something that hasn't been mentioned or considered...

pie is quite possibly a euphemism
posted by jaded at 3:25 PM on July 26, 2002

Nowadays I find it hard to walk round a supermarket without getting the urge to say "Mmmm pie" at some point. I'm a broken man.

Someone like Pukka Pies should pay Weebl a stack of cash for an ad campaign, it couldn't fail.

Lo, I have become death, stealer of pie.

My innocence is gone, like pie.

I love this site.

blimey!

My fiance and I have been reciting bits of this to each other for months now. I think it's the music that keeps me coming back. The track behind the original is one of my favourites, but all of them are pretty funky.

I find 'ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US' and South Park funny, so I can't be that behind the curve, right?

The thing to remember, is that there's more than one curve, and you don't need to be on all of them. Just the one's you actually enjoy.

Thank goodness. This one isn't happening for me at all.

Gordon: MASSIVE, MASSIVE QUANTITIES AND A GLASS OF WATER, SWEETHEART. MY SOCKS ARE ON FIRE.

Shouldn't be funny, but I laughed until pie came out of my nose when I first saw it a couple weeks ago. Glad to see it's being updated and expanded :)
