Being able to be a solar-powered human sounds pretty nice and would free a person up to do lots of cool things, like slowly hike major trails or just sit outside somewhere pretty for months on with almost no impact, end with minimal gear as long as you had access to water.

Also not having to poop would also probably be nice and finally end the endless debates and opinions about wiping butts.

Also, I'll save someone the trouble:

Every now and then, I remind myself that humans actually do practice photosynthesis... of vitamin D.

I had an art teacher who once subsisted on a carrot diet and her skin turned orange from all the carotene. You are what you eat.

The life span effect is interesting. The researchers expose treated worms to one frequency of visible (red) light absorbed by the pigment and they get bonus longevity. I wonder how much of that gain is lost, with exposure to UV in regular sunlight.

You've described my dream existence. Where do I sign?

I have to wonder what our microbiome would make of all this.
