Igor Vamos of the Yes Men (previously: 1 2 3 4 5) and his students share a video of their blended learning classroom at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It gets weird. (19 minutes)

God damn I'm so glad the Yes Men are still around. They've been a joy in my life for nearly two decades now.

My time at RPI had some psychedelic moments, but none quite this weird.

The lectures will be recorded, a valuable archive!

Oh, this starts off doing a fine job of showing many ways HyFlex classes can be painful. As someone teaching in 2020, I found it achingly accurate.

Then it slides into found footage horror territory. I like how the different audition characters return.

Technically it's a HyFlex class. But folks have shied away from that term.

Oh man. Before the weirdness, the awkwardness at the start is 100% on point. I teach online and...yeah.

This was captivating and brilliant. I loved it! Wish I could ID the shirtless guy with the overtone singing.

Good to see West Hall looking just as shitty as I remember it.

If you think West Hall looks shitty now, you should have seen it before its extensive renovations in 2004.

As someone who spent over 200 hours on zoom in the last 11 weeks this brought me incredible joy. Geez. As a professor of ostensibly digital media I wish our class projects turned out like this. Maybe I just need to dream more sideways.
