The last few episodes of Wonder Egg Priority were not great but Kaoru was a welcome moment, particularly for how unambiguous he was. There's no room for endless debate like what surrounds Re:Zero's Ferris—Kaoru is AFAB, he's not a lesbian, inside he's a boy, he's referred to as a boy, all in the show. It's clear. The jacket is just icing on the cake.

What the show is trying to say with Momoe, on the other hand, I do not know.
