Cures for Hiccups

My partner had hiccups the other day, so I had him do a breathing exercise (#4) and they went away. It's my favorite technique. I did a search and found this self-diaphragm release which is said to work, too. What's your favorite hiccup trick?

Was this supposed to be in Ask? Regardless, the answer is to swallow a spoonful of sugar right down without letting it sit on your tongue. It shocks your system with a big hit of sweetness that needs to get broken down and resets your vagus nerve. Works every time (for me, ymmv).

The only way that works for me is to close my eyes, slow my breathing, and to block everything else out but the image of a white horse galloping along a windswept beach. Within a minute or so the hiccups are gone 100% of the time. I've never done any type of meditation otherwise, but this trick has worked for me since I was a teen.
