This is, to me, 50% “kids do the funniest things” and 50% “unintentional eldritch horror film stills”. Love it.

This is adorable. My son (now 12 and in the waning seconds of still wanting to play hide and seek, mostly to avoid doing chores) has perfected the art of leaving a temporary hiding spot into a room you already searched, and picking an obvious but hidden place where you already looked.

Then again, this is a counter move to our strategy of counting loudly while sitting on the couch and not actually ever looking, which you can get away with for far longer than you might think…

When he was two I once hid from my son by sitting in an armchair in the living room with a plastic IKEA tub over my head. He walked right past me.

I never stopped wanting to play hide and seek. I just stopped fitting in the good hiding places.

Also I think my family played hide and seek to get some peace and quiet.

I tried to get together a hide and seek tournament, but it turns out good players are hard to find
