Vinyl crate-digging on single-digit budgets, in podcast form

I'd Buy That For a Dollar is a podcast about “inexpensive, common and underappreciated records that are waiting to be rediscovered.” Hosts Sean Hartman, Peter Cook and Jeremy Ruggles (plus guests) plunder the vinyl discount bins for gems of all genres, mostly from the 70s and 80s. This is wonderful, thank you very much. Went back to the beginning and am working my way toward the present. They've been prolific!

I never would have heard of this otherwise, and it's entirely up my alley. Thanks for posting!

richard harris' the yard went on forever is just like a tramp shining - jimmy webb did the songs and arrangements and they are pretty much a pinnacle of 60s l a pop - the wrecking crew is there, of course

it's essential for anyone into this style

richard harris' the yard went on forever is just like a tramp shining -

except MORE. The title track is too big to call a pocket symphony as it works themes of suburbia and random apocalypse via heavy doses of Valium or whatever family doctors were prescribing in the late 60s.

And yes, great concept for a podcast. Wish I'd thought of it.

Good picks. Exactly what I'd grab if I was crate digging.

Richard Harris - A Tramp Shining
Jane Siberry - The Speckless Sky
Environments - Disc 2
Dynasty - The Second Adventure
Carole King - Wrap Around Joy
Sérgio Mendes & Brasil ’66 - Stillness

For me, one of these things is not like the others. I interviewed Jane Siberry for the university newspaper while she was touring this album and I think my wife is still in touch with her.

I still cop those Environments records when I see them at a reasonable price. My favorite is Tintinnabulation – such a deeply 70s-psychedelia sound.

They're also available as an app.
