angry but quite unharmed

Oscar the cat survived 3 shipwrecks in one year during WWII and was rescued each time, unlike 2145 of his human crewmates. Sadly, the story is hard to confirm. Oscar the cat [PDF] had the amazing ability to predict the imminent death of nursing home patients. Sadly, this widely cited story is probably exaggerated. Oscar the cat lost both his hind feet in a car accident and had them replaced with prosthetics. This story is true.

Nothing seems to be paywalled, as far as I can tell, but I can't promise they aren't regionally restricted. Apologies if so.

In case you don't have enough to distract you, I offer the Wikipedia category:Individual cats.

I meant to include one more skeptical link for the nursing home cat.

I loved reading about the ship cats at the Wikipedia link, now I want to take my cat on a boat... very close to the shore though

Serves him right, the damn dirty Nazi cat. And on the Bismarck, the Naziest ship that ever Nazied. Oh, and he was a turncoat?!? He's lucky he didn't get what was coming to him, like that Nazi monkey in that movie that one time.

Also, "Unsinkbarer Sam," sicherlich?

I say, it's a cat story, not a bund rally.

Oscar three looks very comfy with his rubber and metal feet! He can even jump.

Really cool for the cat, but goddamit if Noel Fitzpatrick doesn't wind me the fuck up. How many animals does he put through ridiculous surgery just to prolong their lives for 6 months so that their more-money-than--empathy owners can put off the grieving process? This cat not so much, but there are a lot on his telly shows that seem exploitative.
