This is GREAT.

I have seen (and acted on!) similar newsletters, like the excellent Americans of Conscience checklist ( ... and I think the Indivisible newsletters used to be quite similar. Are those still coming out?).

Some things I especially like about Today Do This:
  • despite the tag line of "one simple thing you can do," they actually very subtly offer MORE than one thing you can do - so in a given week maybe you can donate or volunteer or write your representatives or spread the word. This is nice flexibility, since not everyone has the same amounts of time or money or whatever from week to week (and personally, I'm not on social media, so I can never do social media actions)
  • they're US-focused, but not US-exclusive, giving people all over the world a chance to take action, and reminding USA-based readers that not everything happens here
  • the What can you do at work? section is GREAT. If your workplace is taking progressive actions, you can speak up and support that; if it's NOT, you can encourage moving in that direction
Also, this bit from their About page got my attention:
together we came up with a toolkit for anyone who’s thought about changing the world but isn’t quite sure where to start. We filled a small envelope with six simple paper tools inspired by Martin Luther King’s six steps of nonviolent social change, informed by behavioural science, and designed to get users through the hardest part of taking action — getting started.
MLK plus behavioral science? Very inspiring.

This is a terrific resource, and I'm very glad to know about it. I have subscribed. Thank you so much for posting this, Paragon!

Yes, this is a good one. Inaction breeds despair.
