Consider the Lobster

Back in December 2021, tommasz linked us to the story of Leon the Lobster, a grocery store lobster that Brady Brandwood started keeping as a pet. Leon is thriving, and Brady has a playlist of Leon's entire saga so far, as well as a best episodes list, although I think they're all good. Super relaxing video to enjoy on its own or as background for other things!

The original post is probably my personal favorite. I'm glad so many others liked it and Leon, too.

Fantastic - I think about Leon every now and then and the beautiful weird act of buying something intended as food and giving it a chance to live longer. It's subversive in an appealing, low-threshold way.

Definitely team Leon.

Oh yes, this is one of my favorite things on the entire internet. Long live Leon!

So far, we have a promising movie premise involving: unpromising beginnings, literally a fish-out-of-water story, friends come and go, and road trip to Georgia.

I adore these, Brady’s voice and the music he uses gives the channel a relaxing, middle school science class video day vibe

I've been hoping for more Leon content since that previous post!

Well this is just fabulous. I missed the original post, so thanks for the followup. Apparently I enjoy people who create aquariums and then narrate their videos gently. Similarly there was a delightful fellow who scooped up pond water behind his house then let the ecosystem develop in his aquarium. He let them go when he realized he was growing some vertebrates.

Unfortunately, I can't remember his youtube channel. I'm pretty sure it was a MeFi post, but it's not turning up on any of my searches.

Say what you will, but Leon is definitely a Creature, perhaps as much of a creature as any critter can be.
