He's 700 in Dog years!

This past Saturday, Dr. Robert Moore, a retired dean from San Jose University, turned 100. Dr. Moore is an avid dog lover, and so his daughter Allison had a unique idea - she posted a message on NextDoor asking people to bring their dogs over that afternoon to say hello. She expected maybe only 20 or 30 people - but over 200 people showed up.

Guests were encouraged to dress their dogs up so they could stage a little parade. And people complied - dressing their dogs in cowboy hats and tuxedos - and some even brought their dogs by in classic cars. People also showered him with gifts, cards, and cupcakes, and everyone signed a huge card after bringing their dogs one by one up to greet the birthday boy.

Dr. Moore delightedly pet every one of his new friends and had a blast.

Who gives a shit about the people? HOW MANY DOGS?

Yeah, I realized I made that mistake too late....safe to assume about 1.2 dogs per person. (Some people had multiple dogs - while one little girl showed up with a stuffie because she didn't have a dog of her own.)

Getting to meet and pet over 200 dogs would be the greatest birthday party ever. What an incredibly sweet thing for his daughter to do for him.

Adorable. I think this is the first thing that’s ever made me perhaps want to live to 100.

San Jose State University does pretty well with people named Moore, including Omari and Gordon.

The only acceptable remake of Dog Day Afternoon.

Great story! :-)

I think we should have more dog parades. Just throwing that out there.

Cat parades . . . Idk. I can’t get our cat to stop peeing behind my wife’s comfy chair.

what a great birthday!!

my church promoted a "Bring Your Dog" service and we were supposed to meet in the yard behind the church, we had speakers set up and a mic etc, it was planned as an outdoor service. I'll cut to the chase: my partner said "don't do it! our dog has aggression issues with other dogs, this is not a good idea" and I thought we could attend from a distance, it would work. Plus a few times I insisted we try things to help address the aggression, it turned out really well and she can socialize under the right circumstances.

this turned into a hasty retreat, let's just say I was walking away quickly and a large Husky was dragging a very petite member of the congregation across a lawn toward us and it was not good. I don't think we were entirely at fault, the darn Husky was more than a bit much.. no-one came to grief, but no church for my dog.

Such a sweet story but then I'm a sucker for anything on The Dodo or Dog named Stella end of the vlog youtube channel podcast spectrum. One or two cute videos and I'm all What a cute little wuzza wuzza!

Do you have to be turning 100 for this to happen? What if you're turning 43? I'm ... uh ... asking for me. Basically, bring me all your dogs because I want to pet all your dogs. (Dogs really like me too.)

This is so adorable. I love it.
