I have sat in this moment, staring into the expanse of the bottom of a white porcelain mug and wondering what fresh Hell I have brought to my own front door.
The amazing Niko Stratis with her first column about the intersection of sobriety, recovery, pop culture, and music for Paste Magazine. (I also love that she titled it after a Vic Chesnutt song that has started to resonate a little too strongly with me.)

I didn't know Warren Zevon, except through his music, but fuck I miss him.

Just because you can never go back does not mean you have to lose touch of what good moments live in the hardest of days.I feel like this is what the writer of yesterday’s Boxcar Children piece was trying to say.

I want to rewatch every episode of David Letterman in which Zevon sat in for Paul Shaffer. He was hilarious.
