Going by the mashup's title, and before fully reading the description, I thought this was going to be "Super Freak" + "Chain of Fools". Not that the actual mashup isn't great, though!

Throwing a spanner in here... I do LOVE mashups and clever re-interpretations of prior works (whatever the medium). However, there seems to be a stream of 'blended music' which ALMOST gets into the 'mashup' territory but misses the 'internal ear' (the 'animalistic' aspect) of a (or multiple) piece(s) of music which is what makes a unique piece of music. For me this is just messy - I defer to people like DJRiko and DJBC etal plus countless other mashup artists whose ears are attuned to the finesse of being lost in music... AI and regenerative music misses the point entirely and bastardizes the whole music genre... Shame, shame, shame... shame on you.

I hold most mashups in pretty low regard, but this is a good one.

Interesting. I grew up with Randy (1960s). I did not mind the video, but did not understand why it was made.

Good stuff. If you'd like to listen to an entire band that sounds like this, the BellRays are what you want.

From the same why-was-it-made producer, Rage Against the Machine + James Brown Take the Soul Power Back is pretty wow.

The creator, Bill McClintock, deserves to be named here. (And maybe added in the tags?) Several previouslies.

I like this video just because it takes Black Sabbath's most under-rated song and fixes that dead area with the percussion and acoustic riffing. I always suspected that the band recorded this low-key bridge with the intent to add something later, but somehow forgot all about it until the song reached the pressing stage. They should've called Aretha the first time around and fixed it good 'n proper: crossover of the decade, it would been!

This is a good mashup. The flavors mesh and enhance each other and don't get in each other's way. Aretha is heavy on the one and deep in the pocket and so are Sabbath. The drum breakdown, as mentioned, turns into the best part of the song! The extra guitar solos add a bit of comedy to the proceedings. Once the novelty wears off it still has real musical appeal. I will be forwarding this to like 3 or 4 people on my phone, the highest possible honor for any mashup.

That's a good mashup. But man, those two main riffs are among Iommi's best. Light on their feet yet heavier than hell.
