This series was my first introduction to Ivan and I totally loved it. It turns out that there was a bunch of crossover with other YouTube channels that I also watch that he was involved in, like this Steve Mould video that I somehow neglected to make the connection with.

Every time I see someone build a (marble clock, instrument, machine) I always go through the same steps:

1. Wow, that looks amazing!
2. I have a few ideas that would totally improve on this.
3. A number of hours drawing and planning.
4. Wait, everyone who builds something like this is driven insane.
5. Maybe next time...

Seems like you could have separate white and black feeds and a selector at the top that placed either a white or black in position for each row simultaneously instead of waiting for the right color to pass up the elevator. Then you'd need some way at the bottom to re-sort the drained balls into the white and black buckets. No I do not want to attempt this.
